My beloved brother's memorial service was yesterday. It was a beautiful service filled with family and friends from both sides of the country. It's times like this, hearing everyone reminisce about my brother and how he touched their lives, that I see how easy it is to change the world. Not by big, earth-shattering movements but by little, loving gestures given each day in our own little world.
We can't all be famous, nor can we all be giant leaders changing the world with our words, music, or ideas. But each of us, like my brother, can change the world in little ways. By simply raising his family with love and patience, helping others when he could, and encouraging people to be the best they can be, my brother really did change the world. And that was obvious in the people who shared their lives with him.
In their stories, I learned even more about my brother and how he touched the lives of his family, friends, co-workers, and even strangers. He loved greatly. And I hope that I can do even a little of what he did to change the world.
You don't have to be a world leader to change the world. Just do what you can in your own little world and eventually we can change the world.
Have a safe, blessed day.
