It's a beautiful, sunny day here in Michigan. It's going to be a great day for gardening and yard work and I can't wait. I have been taking lots of pictures of my garden, especially the lilies I have in my yard. I LOVE lilies! They are so beautiful and, to me, peaceful. I am reminded of Jesus' words concerning the "lilies in all their splendor." [Luke 12:27] They and other areas of the garden always bring me closer to God.
Actually, all of nature brings me much closer to God. I find I can see the sacred much more clearly in the trees, gardens, woods, and beaches of the world. And in the animals that inhabit this wonderful world. Each morning before dawn, I am aware of the birds beginning their morning songs. And I hear God's song in the singing of the birds. I see God's hand in the beauty of the flowers. I see God's work being done by the bees.
And each butterfly reminds me of the changes that happen in each of our lives — from caterpillar to butterfly. We go through changes in our lives and the final change in our bodily death. A metamorphosis we each must go through at the end of our lives.
If you get a chance today, stop and smell a flower. Look up at the clouds in the sky, listen to the birds sing their song. And in doing so, I believe you'll see and hear God's voice.
Have a safe and blessed day.
